Dan Graham, CEO

Dan Graham co-founded BuildASign.com in 2005 and oversees the company's growth strategy and plays a key role in its philanthropic efforts and talent acquisition. Dan is a winner of the Ernst & Young Entrepreneur Of The Year® 2013 Central Texas award. He is also a recipient of the Austin Business Journal's 2012 Best CEO Award, and was named 2012 Austinite of the Year and the Business and Entrepreneurship category winner by Austin Under 40, recognizing his success as a business owner as well as his commitment to philanthropic work. As a native Austinite, Dan personally gives back to the Austin community through participation on the Board of Directors for numerous philanthropic organizations including Austin Community Foundation, Glasshouse Policy and Mission Capital among several others. He also acts as a mentor to aspiring young entrepreneurs working with Capital Factory and SKU. Dan earned undergraduate degrees in computer science and philosophy from The University of Texas at Austin and a J.D. from The University of Texas at Austin School of Law. As the father to three incredible daughters, Dan spends his free time with them and his wife, Lisa. Dan is an avid reader and enjoys practicing yoga a few times a week.

Bryan Kranik, Chief Marketing Officer

Bryan Kranik joined BuildASign.com in 2015 and oversees marketing, product management, creative and customer lifetime value across the three business divisions of the company. Prior to BuildASign.com, Bryan spent 14 years at Dell in the Consumer and Small Business division holding leadership roles in marketing, sales and general management. His most recent role at Dell was leading the organization responsible for marketing and selling to small businesses which generated more than $1B in annual revenue. During his time at Dell, he received many accolades including the prestigious and inaugural Michael Dell Champion award in both 2014 and 2015. Before joining Dell, Bryan worked for Ernst & Young as an Auditor and Merrill Lynch as an Investment Banker. He earned a bachelor’s degree in Accounting from The Pennsylvania State University and an MBA from the Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern University. On the weekend, Bryan spends time with his wife, Christy, and son, Hudson, and plays outdoor soccer in a competitive men's league.

Kit Mellem, Chief Financial Officer

Kit Mellem oversees BuildASign.com’s financial and legal operations, policies and reporting. Kit joined BuildASign.com in 2009 and has helped the company continue to grow rapidly and increase profitability. Prior to joining BuildASign.com, Kit was an attorney with Cleary Gottlieb Steen & Hamilton LLP in New York, where his practice focused on the taxation of corporate transactions. In 2014, the Austin Business Journal recognized Kit as the city’s Best CFO in the large private company category. Kit was also a winner at the 2014 Austin Under 40 Awards in the Financial Services & Insurance category, recognizing him as a leader in his industry and also for his commitment to serving the community. Kit serves on the Board of Directors for GENaustin and the Austin Chapter of Financial Executives International (FEI). He earned bachelor’s degrees in accounting and philosophy from The University of Kansas and a J.D. from Columbia Law School. Kit is the proud gold medal winner in the StartUp Games Connect 4 challenge and enjoys whiskey tasting and the Austin restaurant scene.

Nick Swerdfeger, Chief Operations Officer

Nick Swerdfeger leads BuildASign.com’s enterprise accounts services, product addition strategy and customer service teams. Nick joined BuildASign.com in 2007 and played an instumental role in scaling the company's operational infrastructure and capabilities to effectively meet BuildASign.com’s rapid growth. Now, more focused on the front end of the business, Nick leads efforts directly impacting the customer experience and growth initiatives. Nick is on the Board of Directors for the Association for Manufacturing Excellence (AME) Southwest Region, Austin Regional Manufacturers Association (ARMA), TeXChange and supports STEM through work with Phoenix Aviation Dream Builders. Before joining BuildASign.com, Nick served as an Optimization Engineer for BP at their Carson, CA refinery. He earned bachelor’s degrees in chemical engineering and economics from Colorado School of Mines. Nick is an active investor in the Austin entrepreneurship scene, enjoys traveling and can typically be found on the soccer field on Saturday mornings.

Chelsea Woodhead, Chief People Officer

Chelsea Woodhead has been with BuildASign.com since 2010 and oversees communications, philanthropy, people operations and office and facilities for the company. Since joining the company, Chelsea has focused on the development and growth of the self-funded philanthropic business unit that has generated more than $1M in gifts and incubated several keystone community programs like Philanthropitch and CANville. The people of BuildASign.com are her main priority and she works with the entire organization to support an inspiring and engaging workplace. In 2014, Chelsea was honored as a finalist for the Austin Business Journal Profiles in Power award as a 'Rising Star' in the Austin business community. Chelsea serves on the Board of Directors for the Austin chapter of Conscious Capitalism, is a Social Venture Partner with Greenlights, is an active member of the Junior League of Austin and enjoys volunteering with many different nonprofits in the Austin community. She earned bachelor’s degrees in public relations, political science and women’s studies from Gonzaga University and has a professional background in public service, politics, community relations and nonprofit work. On the weekends Chelsea enjoys playing sports, volunteering and adventuring outside with her husband, Dustin, toddler, Avery, and rescue dog, Riley.

Joe Licata, Senior Director of Operations

Joe Licata oversees BuildASign.com’s production, logistics, and supply chain operations. Joe joined BuildASign.com in 2013. Before leading the production team, Joe served as both In-House Counsel and Financial Analyst for BuildASign.com. He is responsible for scaling the company's production infrastructure and capabilities in addition to working with the operations leadership group to support the needs of the Production Team Members (PTMs). Joe is a regular volunteer, enjoys youth mentoring and periodically serves as a mentor for 3 Day Startup (3DS) teams in College Station. In addition, Joe is active in the Austin Regional Manufacturers Association (ARMA) and the Association for Manufacturing Excellence (AME). Before joining BuildASign.com, Joe worked in investment banking and then worked as an attorney focused on civil litigation and contracts for a boutique firm in Houston after attending law school. He has a bachelors of science degree in Economics from Texas A&M University and a J.D. from the Dedman School of Law at Southern Methodist University, where he was a Walsh Scholar. When he's not at work Joe enjoys spending time outside on the local greenbelt with his wife and their three children. Occasionally he can also be found casting a fly rod somewhere on the San Gabriel or Colorado river.
