Military Families Overwhelmed with Support from BuildASign.com
AUSTIN, Texas, Nov. 11, 2014 -- BuildASign.com, a leading online custom printing provider, today announced a major milestone in its efforts to support military heroes. The Troops Program, which was launched in 2008 and has become one of the company's most notable philanthropic efforts, has now donated over 337,000 welcome home signs and banners, worth more than $10 million in retail value, to the friends and families of returning military service members.
When Jamie Kingsley from Austin, Texas, was awaiting her husband's homecoming after his year-long deployment, she dealt with her excitement and nervousness by planning the perfect welcome home celebration. While her husband was gone, the couple's two children often asked her to "call the Army and ask if daddy can come home" - so she knew it had to be perfect.
"After he had been gone for so many months, it hit me when I was on the BuildASign.com website designing his banner that he was truly coming home," said Jamie Kingsley. "What I felt the moment my husband returned home is difficult to express in words. I just really appreciate the support from BuildASign.com and their efforts to make this very special moment in our lives even more memorable."
The BuildASign.com Troops Program was initially launched as a one-time campaign to donate 10,000 banners to the friends and families of our troops, but when the 10,000 mark was reached within three weeks, the company decided to expand the program and continue it indefinitely. A special landing page was created to make it easy for customers to order their free welcome home signs and banners. Customers can start with one of the 15 templates and then customize any design element they would like, making each piece of signage unique for the soldier.
"Military families sacrifice so much and we are honored to support them," said Dan Graham, CEO of BuildASign.com. "I am immensely proud of our Troops Program and am excited that it is expanding."
Since the number of military homecomings is on the decline, customers can also use the free banners to show support for our troops at home. With the banners being fully customizable, the words can be changed to congratulate their loved one on graduation from boot camp or an academy, or just to show their support for our military.
